WA-DR8/G speed relay
Speed measurement without sensors using remanent voltage
The WA-DR8/G speed relay measures the speed of generators and motors. The principle is based on a frequency measurement of the generator’s voltage. The remanent voltage of an asynchronous generator is sufficient, as amplitudes are measured from just 0.7 V. No sensors are required, due to the measurement principle. The measuring converter of the WA-DR8/G displays the speed at the output as a standard signal 2-10 V DC.
Monitoring of underspeed and overspeed
In addition, the WA-DR8/G monitors the measurements for underspeed and overspeed. To indicate, a relay with changeover contact is available for each. In addition, the status is displayed on the device using LEDs. The tripping limits are predefined using a dip switch.
